Zionists Attack Jenin Refugee Camp, Killing 5 Palestinian Civilians.

AsarNews, Jenin - At least 91 people were injured as Israeli forces stormed the Jenin camp, supported by the rare use of combat helicopters. The air assault has been ongoing intensively since Monday morning, (19/6) yesterday.

The attack, the most significant in years, began on Monday morning after Israeli forces invaded the refugee camp in the West Bank, firing live ammunition, stun grenades, and tear gas, according to the Wafa news agency. Combat helicopters were used for the first time in decades following hours of subsequent fighting.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health identified the victims as Ahmed Saqr, 15, Khaled Darwish, 21, Qassam Sariya, 19, Qassam Faisal Abu Sirriya, 29, and Ahmed Daraghmeh. At least 22 injured Palestinians are believed to be in critical condition.

Reporting from the occupied West Bank, Nida Ibrahim of Al Jazeera said Israeli military forces withdrew from the camp after several hours. Ibrahim said, "Families and friends came to pay their respects and show solidarity with the families - to show grief, to show anger."

Other journalists on the ground, while covering the incident, also told Al Jazeera that some of their colleagues were shot by Israeli forces during the raid, which took place near the location where Al Jazeera veteran journalist Shireen Abu Akleh was shot and killed by an Israeli sniper in May 2022.

Viral videos on social media showed an Israeli helicopter launching rockets into the camp, with surveillance drones hovering above. The use of combat helicopters itself is the first in 20 years in the West Bank.
