Basic Necessities Aid Distributed to Orphanage for Children with Disabilities

ASARNews, Gunung Putri – ASAR Humanity, in collaboration with Kitabisa, has provided food aid to Rumah Azaki, an orphanage that cares for dozens of orphans with special needs. Rumah Azaki is located in Karanggan Village, Gunung Putri District, Bogor Regency.

Various basic aid was distributed to meet the daily needs of the children, including food packages consisting of rice, cooking oil, UHT milk, green beans, vegetable packs, fruit packs, fish, sugar, and tea bags; hygiene kits, including laundry fragrance and soap; and 22 servings of ready-to-eat meals, including rice, protein, and vegetables.

Rumah Azaki cares for orphaned children with disabilities from various backgrounds. “Some of the children here were handed over by certain parties because they have no parents, and some were abandoned by their families,” said one of the caretakers during the ASAR Humanity team’s assessment.

The orphanage often faces challenges in meeting its operational needs, as Rumah Azaki relies on public donations to meet the needs of the children, while it does not have regular donors. “We often fall behind on electricity bills because we prioritize using the funds to buy food for the children,” the caretaker added.

This basic aid is part of ASAR Humanity's regular support for Rumah Azaki. ASAR Humanity continues to coordinate with the orphanage to ensure that the basic needs of the orphans with disabilities are met
