Distribute Al-Qurans, ASAR Humanity Reaches Remote Islamic Boarding Schools

ASARNews, Depok – The condition of Islamic boarding schools for the underprivileged in rural areas is often overlooked by many. These schools educate less fortunate students with limited resources, relying solely on the determination and knowledge of the teachers. This effort ensures that underprivileged children do not drop out of school due to their inability to attend formal education because of economic constraints. Friday (11/01).

This situation causes the pesantren to face numerous difficulties, such as inadequate food supplies for the students and a lack of proper learning facilities. One of the issues faced by these boarding schools is the insufficient number of Al-Qurans for all the students. Some pesantren still use old and torn Al-Qurans, which makes it hard for students to learn and hampers the learning process.

ASAR Humanity distributed the trusted aid of Al-Qurans to various underprivileged pesantren, as implemented by the ASAR Humanity field team known as Ksatria. The Ksatria volunteers distributed 186 copies of the Al-Quran to two pesantren: Imammus Sunnah in Gantarang Keke, South Sulawesi, and TPQ Miftahul Ulum in West Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara.

These pesantren and TPQ (Islamic Education Schools) were assessed by the Ksatria volunteers beforehand, ensuring the aid was given to those truly in need. One of the challenges faced by these pesantren is the lack of Al-Qurans relative to the number of students, forcing students to take turns using the Quran for their studies.

The Al-Quran donation is entrusted by ASAR Humanity’s fundraising partners. ASAR Humanity has an educational program focused on helping underprivileged pesantren, aimed at addressing the various difficulties they face, including access to water, food, health, and learning infrastructure.
